Subject: Freedom of Information Request – Costs Incurred by the British Council in the Case of Mr Paul Sellers
Dear FOI Officer,
I am writing to request information under the Freedom of Information Act 2000.
Please provide a full disclosure of the total costs, in GBP, incurred by the British Council in relation to the dismissal of Mr Paul Sellers in May 2019. I request that these costs be calculated from the date on which the initial allegations arose, namely 16 December 2018, and that they include all relevant legal fees and payments, as well as estimated costs associated with management time, administration, travel, and any other related expenses.
Please break down the total costs as far as possible under the following categories:
• Internal disciplinary and appeal processes;
• The accommodation dispute and any related matters in Italy;
• The Employment Tribunal phase;
• The Employment Appeal Tribunal phase;
• Compensation payments;
• The Employment Tribunal anonymity application in relation to the Complainant anonymised as 'ZZ', and an estimate of costs to the conclusion of the application including any potential appeal in relation to that matter.
In addition, please confirm the source(s) of the funds used to meet these costs and clarify whether any portion of the funding originated from UK public funds, including (but not limited to) taxpayer contributions…
